The city of Oakland Acres is currently looking for two individuals to fill the part-time positions of city maintenance worker and city clerk.
Maintenance Worker job description
This part-time position requires a person with mechanical ability to perform upkeep on city property as needed.† Candidates must be able to perform heavy lifting and have a basic working knowledge of construction and basic repair.
The maintenance worker will receive written work orders or verbal instructions from the municipal administrator and must be able to work with minimal supervision. The person in this position may be asked to perform any combination of the following duties as needed to maintain and repair the property of municipality.
This positionís hours would vary but should not exceed an average of 10-15 hours per month.

City Clerk job description
The city clerk oversees all administrative functions of the city; perform all reporting and recording functions as required by Iowa Code; assist elected officials as needed; serve as liaison between city government and citizens; ensure that city and clerk's office operate efficiently and effectively.
Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of Word and Excel and must attend monthly council meetings.
