Call Meeting to Order:  Mayor Pro-Tem Lisa Griffith called the council meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.

Roll Call:  Don Smith, Dawnette Baker, Lisa Griffith, Clint Follette, Curt Strawser
Also present: Ashley Stock, city clerk

Inquiries from the Community: 

Residents have been asking when/how the tree debris will be removed, city council is discussing during meeting today.

Approval of Minutes: Baker moved to approve the minutes of the July 13, 2020 meeting. Smith seconded.  Ayes: All.

Treasurer’s Report:  Smith moved to approve the June report as submitted. Strawser seconded. Ayes:  All.

Roads/Culvert/Dam: Table until next month due to storm. 

Liquor License Approval – Strawser made motion to renew the Oakland Acres Golf Club Liquor License, as requested.  Follette seconds.  Ayes: All

New Business

New Resident Letter: Table till September meeting

2020 Elections: Good until next year, as no one’s term is up this year.

ICAP & Alliant Grants – Alliant opened on August 1st so will get that submitted.  ICAP is filled out and ready to be submitted just need to know what we want to apply the money to.  Will table and talk about during September meeting.

Snow Removal Winter 20/21 – Brian Edelen from Agri-Vations stopped by during the meeting and stated he is still available for snow removal and interested.  He will supply a bid before the September meeting.

2020 Street Financial Report – Follette makes motion to accept and approve 2020 Street Financial Report as presented.  Resolution 19-2. Baker seconds.  Ayes: All

Council Report: 

-          City Debris Clean-up:  Kelby Taylor put a bid in at $250/hour and wants limbs at 10 feet or less.  He will also rake up all the leaves and small sticks left after grabbing the big limbs.  Will haul it to the brush dump to dispose of.  Jasper County Construction can also come in with a semi and are $325/hour and we have to tell them where to haul it.  Agri-vations also gave bid while at the meeting of $475/hour to bring in Skidloader, dump-truck, excavator, and trailer.  Follette moves to hire Kelby Taylor for clean-up bid of $250/hour and will begin picking up the debris on August 23rd.  Smith seconds.  Ayes: All

Clerk Report:

Maintenance report: quite a bit of painting has been done around the community/park and it is looking good.

Adjournment:  Smith moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:54 p.m. Baker seconded. Ayes:  All.
