OAKLAND ACRES CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

7:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019

Oakland Acres Maintenance Building

 

Call Meeting to Order:  Mayor Lennie Smith called the council meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

Roll Call:  Ted Schultz, Terry Morrison, and Don Smith. Absent: Heath Collett and Lisa Griffith.
Also present: Lori Smith, city clerk and Andy Heishman.

Inquiries from the Community:  Terry contacted Alliant to replace the bulb at the entrance at Oakland Drive. Andy asked if a few vehicles could be moved to allow more room to plow snow, including a few overhanging limbs over the road, which Andy will trim. Andy said that he 40 posts for the dam.

Approval of Minutes: Morrison moved to approve the minutes of the December 10, 2018, meeting. Schultz seconded.  Ayes: All.

Treasurer’s Report:  Smith moved to approve the December report as submitted. Schultz seconded. Ayes:  All.

Payment of Bills:  Schultz moved to approve payment of the following bills as submitted. Morrison seconded.  Ayes:  All.

Mayor’s Opening Address and Report:  None.

Old Business

2019-20 Budget items:  Landscaping (at memorial) and possible electricity at park, and also look into extending the curbing project by splitting into two fiscal years. Put emphasis on redoing roof on maintenance building, extending curbing, culvert repair and copper sulfate.

Filling in stump areas: Talked to Matt and he will try to get to this when he can.

New Business

City laptop replacement: Schultz made a motion to allow city clerk to purchase a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop, including Office 365, with yearly software renewals, for up to $525. Smith seconded. Ayes: All.

City attorney contract: The council reviewed an annual contract from Caldwell, Brierly & Chalupa, PLLC, for city attorney. Schultz made a motion to accept the contract as presented. Smith seconded. Ayes: All.

ECIC meeting: March 7: Council will check schedules and let clerk know at February meeting.


 

Council Report:  None.

Clerk Report:  Will send out tax information to council members next week.

Maintenance report: Gearing up for projects next month.

Adjournment: Schultz moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:32 p.m. Morrison seconded. Ayes:  All.
