Old Business
Grasses for Dam:
Due
to chemicals put on the grasses on the dam, prairie grasses will not be able to
be planted this spring. This will give
us a chance to kill all the weeds, and plant next spring.
Road
Construction: Received a bid from Cessford
to do an additional 400' on the end of Fore Seasons
Drive, to the end of Abrahamsons' yard. The additional amount is $28,000. Schultz made a motion to accept the bid. Weaver seconded. Ayes: All Cessford will be
here the end of this week or beginning of next. This should take 3-4 days. Smith will check with the golf course about
borrowing golf carts for residents to use during this time.. Smith will contact affected residents by
phone.
Clean Up Day: Smith will rent a mulcher
to take care of the brush by the dam, which will be used in the park and by the
yield sign. In case of inclement
weather, the day will be postponed until May 30.
Dumpster Rules: Had several items that were unacceptable
items, including TVs and hazardous materials. Have decided not continue this
practice in following years. Will post
notice in next newsletter. Look into
dates for "free day" at Jasper County Landfill.
Speed Limit: Contacted a person with the State
Patrol. Will continue to follow up concerning
a lowered speed limit sign on Highway 6.
Fish Stock: Have not received a response from North
Star Hatchery. Will look into other
options to complete stocking the lake.
FEMA Projects: Mulching and culvert repair should
finish the projects.
New Business
Snow Removal
Bids: Need
to start snow removal bid process. Will
advertise in Jasper Advertiser, the Pennysaver, and
possibly on Facebook, every other week for three
times. Will request a date of July 1 to
have bids returned. Will then review at
the July meeting.
Ordinance for
Businesses: Had a request to
have a gun repair shop located in a home at Oakland Acres. After research, this seems to comply with our
ordinances, as long as no firearms or ammo are sold.
Liquor License
Application: Schultz made a motion to renew the liquor
license for the Oakland Acres Golf Club.
Arthur seconded. Ayes: All.
Council Report:
Discussed
the council assignments. Will review and
decide at next meeting.
Clerk Report: Will review new ordinances required by state
statue. Will send copies and review at
next meeting.
Maintenance Report:
Will
get mulcher and be around all day on Saturday for
cleanup day. Asked permission to take tractor over to private property to blow
out equipment. Received a request about
replacing the white posts along the dam with PVC posts. Have added a picnic table and a glider at the
fishing area on Eagle Drive.
Adjournment:
Schultz moved to adjourn the meeting at
8:14 p.m. Weaver seconded. Ayes:
All.
These minutes
are as recorded by the City Clerk and are subject to council approval at the
next City Council meeting.
