Call Meeting to Order: Mayor Smith called the council meeting
to order at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call: Barb Arthur, Ted
Schultz, Sarah Pfennigs and Doug Weaver. Joyce Halblom arrived at 7:12.
Also present: Lori Smith, city clerk

Approval of Minutes:
Schultz moved to approve the minutes of the September
14, 2015, meeting. Arthur seconded. Ayes:

Mayor’s Opening
Address and Report: Since Mayor
Smith's last term will end 12/31/17, so we need to start thinking about
possible citizens to run for mayor in two years. Need to promote throughout the
community to gauge interest.
Old Business
Ordinances
and issues: Need to start
compiling a list of people, including phone numbers and addresses, to back up
our stand on a property dispute. List is
due to the lawyer by Monday, October 19.
Street Financial
Report: Turned in and approved by the state.
Halloween party: Will hold in the park on October 24 from
4-5 p.m. Pfennigs agreed to assist Lori
Smith with the party. Trick or treating
will follow from 6-8 p.m. Have had a request for lighting in park. Will look into solar lighting in the
spring. Mayor Smith will work up a
proposal.
Holiday dates: The date and time have been verified
with the clubhouse. It will be held on
Sunday, December 13, from 2-4 p.m. at the Clubhouse.
Street
Repair: Smith needs to
contact Cessford again to check when repairs to Fore
Seasons Drive.
New Business
Elections:
On the ballot are Mayor Smith, Ted Schultz
and Terry Morrison. One open council
position remains. Voting will be held on
November 3, from noon - 8 p.m. at the Kellogg City Hall/Fire Station.
Annual
Financial Report: Due on December 1. Will review at next meeting.
Potential
Budget Items for FY17: Message
boards, possible reseeding of dam, tires for tractor, road funds, legal
fees. Will continue to think of items.
Council Report:
Heard
from DNR, and they will be doing a study for Emerald Ash Borer, and will
compile the results. This is a free
service.
Clerk Report: Passed out Municipal Leadership Academy
brochures and mentioned that the ECIC meeting will be held at the clubhouse on
November 12. Council members will RSVP
to the clerk before November 5.
Maintenance Report:
May
need tires for tractor.
