Mayor’s Opening Address and Report:  Wanted to thank Lori Smith for all that she did as city clerk, she went well above and beyond her specified duties. She has caught the city up on a lot of items that were past due that were creating fines for the city.  She also did a lot for the celebrations within the community (Easter, Halloween and Holiday parties).

Mayor Lennie Smith also handed his resignation to the city council members and effective September 10th stepped down as Mayor.

Old Business

Lombard Culvert: Griffith received the signed document from Lombard stating that he will pay $400 toward the repair and the cost of the culvert and is also releasing the city from any future liability on this issue.  Don Smith will connect with Chuck Griffith to see what the completion timeline is.

Speed Bumps:   Lennie talked to Strawsers and they said they put speed bumps on curb, no one around has seen it.  Lennie will talk to Collettes and Hintzs as well.  If anyone knows where they are at please return them to the maintenance shed.  Will look to pull up speed bumps mid-October for snow removal.

Snow removal bids: Received two bids from Agri-Vations and Devig Inc. for snow removal.  Morrison would like to touch base with each applicant face to face to ask questions, rest of council agreed.  Will look to invite them to the October 14th meeting.

2019 Election: Deadline is September 21st to get paperwork sent into the courthouse.  Clint and Don have reached out to a few residents to see if there was any interest.  There will be two spots open during this election

Posts on Dam: Table until the October meeting.

Street Signs: Schultz will take a count before next meeting to see how many are out here and will decide if we just replace the 3 that need it or replace all to look uniform and be reflective.

Burning the Dam: Lisa will contact the fire dept to set up a time to burn the north side off.

Mowing the Dam: Will be using Brad’s equipment for $150/day and Bill Schulte will try mowing it.
